Position Summary

Vista’s Value Creation Team (VCT) is seeking a Senior Consultant, Accounting & Finance Operations to join our Core Business Operations (CBO) practice. This role is ideal for experienced professionals with backgrounds in public accounting, corporate finance operations, and finance system transformations, who are passionate about leveraging technology to enhance financial accuracy, efficiency, and scalability.

The Senior Consultant will support portfolio companies across Vista’s ecosystem by leading technical accounting advisory, audit readiness, purchase accounting, and finance systems and process transformation initiatives. This role combines strong technical accounting expertise with deep system and process knowledge to help portfolio companies modernize their back-office operation, accelerate AI adoption and improve back-office efficiency.

 

This position is based remotely and available for immediate start.

Responsibilities

As a Senior Consultant on the team, you will:

  • Lead or support technical accounting advisory projects, including audit preparation, purchase accounting, and transaction support.
  • Oversee finance system implementations and transformation efforts from project kick-off through post–go-live stabilization.
  • Assess, document, and redesign finance and accounting processes across key cycles (order to cash, procure to pay, record to report, payroll, and revenue recognition).
  • Provide systems optimization and integration advisory for financial applications, ensuring alignment with Vista best practices.
  • Deliver insights and recommendations to improve month-end close and financial reporting processes, including automation and AI-enabled efficiencies.
  • Develop and deliver training and enablement sessions for portfolio company finance teams.
  • Partner with company executives, external auditors, and technology vendors to drive execution and ensure timely, high-quality outcomes.
  • Facilitate cross-portfolio collaboration, enabling best-practice sharing across the Vista network.
  • Contribute to continuous improvement of Vista’s value creation methodologies and best practices.

Qualifications

  • BS/BA degree in Accounting, Finance, Business Administration, or related field.
  • CPA, MPA, MBA, or equivalent certification strongly preferred.
  • 4-6 years of experience in public accounting, finance transformation consulting, or corporate finance operations.
  • Experience transforming finance systems, including ERP solutions such as NetSuite, Oracle, Intacct, SAP, and Workday.
  • Strong understanding of finance processes—order to cash, procure to pay, general ledger, payroll, budgeting, forecasting, revenue recognition, and month-end close.
  • Experience performing technical accounting analysis and preparing documentation for complex transactions.
  • Demonstrated success driving business change through enabling technologies, including automation and AI in back-office processes.
  • Excellent leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills with proven ability to manage cross-functional stakeholders.
  • Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously under tight deadlines.
  • Strong organizational skills, attention to detail, and ability to thrive in a fast-paced, dynamic environment.
  • Familiarity with AI tools (e.g., ChatGPT, Claude).
  • Willingness to travel up to 25% of time.

 

The annualized base pay range for this role is expected to be between $130,000 - $150,000. Actual base pay could vary based on factors including but not limited to experience, subject matter expertise, geographic location where work will be performed and the applicant’s skill set. The base pay is just one component of the total compensation package for employees. Other components may include an annual cash bonus and a comprehensive benefits package.
